Sewers & Drains
The City of Everett’s wastewater system provides sewage collection and treatment for more than 120,000 people. More than 300 miles of sewer collection pipe carry the wastewater to the Everett Pollution Control Facility for treatment. The Public Works Department maintains more than 13,000 storm drains throughout the city. The storm drains are routinely cleaned with a vactor truck to prevent flooding and storm drain overflow. To report a problem, fill out a service request online, or call 425-257-8800.Click here to view current sewer projects.

Stormwater Management

Information about our stormwater system under our common area/park

The Public Works Department has drafted the Stormwater Management Program to meet the requirements of the Western Washington Phase II Municipal Stormwater Permit. The Municipal Stormwater Permit is a requirement of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permits Program in the Federal Clean Water Act. Permit authority in Washington State has been delegated to the State Department of Ecology. Ecology issued a Phase II municipal Stormwater General Permit to more than 100 municipalities, including Everett, in early 2007.
The City's Stormwater Management Program document describes actions the city will take through the year 2011 to maintain compliance with the Permit's Stormwater Management Program conditions, which are designed to reduce stormwater runoff pollution to Everett's waterways.
The City wishes to involve the public in the decision making processes involving the development and implementation of the Stormwater Management Program. Opportunities for public review and comment will be available as different elements of the Program are developed. These opportunities will include, but not be limited to the following.
Development and implementation of a Public Education and Outreach Plan.
Development and implementation of Ordinances required by the permit.
Other opportunities as they are identified will be posted on this website.
